Not for everyone
The Saint Bernard is a large breed dog and can weigh from 150-200+ lbs. The Saint Bernard is a powerful, proportionately tall figure and is strong and muscular in every part of its body. It has a powerful head and most intelligent expression. In dogs with a dark mask the expression appears more stern, but never ill-natured. (From the Breed Standard)
Personality
Like humans, Saints have differing personalities. They have spurts of energy but generally tend to be couch potatoes. They very much like to please their human.
Awesome
Having had Saint Bernards for a good portion of our marriage, we can’t imagine not having one. They are an awesome dog. To answer the one most frequent question; Yes, they drool. There is no such thing as a completely dry-mouth Saint Bernard. Mostly they drool after a nice long drink of water but keeping a towel handy can help keep you from having to clean the ceiling.
